Preparing Your Hair
Wash and condition your hair
Wash your hair with shampoo, use conditioner on your ends so that your hair is not over weigh. Over weight hair is hard for volumizing . If you have colored or otherwise damaged hair, avoid volumizing shampoos and conditioners. Towel dry your hair.
Spritz your hair with a volumizing spray.
Apply a little bit of volumizing spray to your hair roots. If you spritz too much spray, hair would look flat and greasy instead of voluminous.
Part your hair into section
Separate your hair into 3 or 4 main sections. Then, separate those sections into at least 2 halves — one on each side of your part. Clip them.
Blow-drying Your Hair
Wrap a section of hair around a round brush. Start from the back of your head near the neck, take one section of hair. Hold your hair up and out while blow-drying. Hold the dryer at least 6 inches away from your hair, move the dryer from your roots to your ends of a section. Move the blow-dryer and the brush at the same time. When you reach the end of the strand, start again form the top. Move dryer in one direction only.
Twirl and spritz the hair
Once the section of hair is complete, give it a gentle spin with your fingers and allow it drop to your shoulders. You will find a gentle, wavy curl in it. Then spritz of hairspray to help it hold its shape. Do not overdo it. Unless you hair will feel crunchy! Repeat all the actions for each section of hair.
Finish it off
Once you’re done, lightly spray a texturizing hairspray. If you want to get extra volume, you can flip your head upside down, then spritz volumizing hairspray on your hair. As you spray your hair, you can gently shake your head from side to side or your hands in a gentle scrunching motion to help more volume.
