All professional hair experts provided different answers. Me and my friends walked out from the event with lots of confusion and depression. I was thinking that why the answers were different. After consulting with a friend who has a lot of experience o came to know that it is not that simple. There are several things to consider how often should you wash your hair?

There are many things that play into establishing a healthy hair. Which includes a cleansing routine? Curl pattern and sebum production are also a factor to think. To speak generally the majority of the people are careless of their hair and many can go 2 to 3 days without washing the hair. For the people with textured hair the natural oil our scalp produces takes much longer to travel down the hair shaft. You can find that you can go beyond 2-3 days before your hair is visibly dirty.

Washing your hair too often will dry out your hair because of stripping the hair from the natural oils. Frequent washing means frequent styling which can do more harm. Washing your natural hair

Rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water, your hair will have to be completely soaked before applying the shampoo. Warm water in important because it opens the cuticles in your hair. Gently massage the shampoo- Gently massage the shampoo into the roots of your hair. Get a quarter sized amount of shampoo into the palm if you have short or medium length hair. You can double the amount if your hair is longer than the shoulders. Rub between the palms and softly work the shampoo into the roots. Ensure to shampoo well at the nape of the neck. Do not scrub your hair and avoid tight circular motions to avoid damaging the cuticles.

Remember not to shampoo the ends of your hair if you have longer hair. You may need more shampoo at the roots where the oil is. The tips of your hair are the oldest and driest hair so you may need less shampoo. If you have product build up get a purifying shampoo and use at least once in a week.

Rinse your hair- rinse out and squeeze the excess water. Try to use warm water and rinse until your hair is free of oil and shampoo. Squeeze the water at the mid-section and end to prepare your hair for the conditioning.

Conditioning Your Hair-  spread the conditioner evenly into your hair or you can use a quarter sized amount of conditioner if its not long enough. You can leave it in for about 2 or 3 minutes or you can use it to shave or finish showering. Rinse your hair with lukewarm water
